Ingredients

  • 50 g rolled oats
  • ¾ cup water or as needed

Method

  1. Add 50 g of oats into a dry blender and blend until it becomes a fine powder.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  3. Gradually add the blended oat flour while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Keep stirring over low heat until it thickens and forms a smooth, stretchy consistency like amala.
  5. Adjust the texture with a splash of hot water if needed, then stir again until smooth.
  6. Wrap in cling film or serve immediately with your preferred low-calorie soup.

Notes

  • The oat swallow thickens as it cools, so stop cooking when it’s slightly softer than your desired consistency.
  • Serve with efo riro, okra soup, or any low-calorie stew of choice for a balanced meal.
  • 50 g of oats makes one 150-calorie serving, perfect for portion control.
