I still can’t believe I ran at least 1 mile for 30 days straight. Please, give me my standing ovation because I’m so proud of myself!
When I started this challenge, the first week felt brutal. My body ached constantly, and I was out of breath after every run. Honestly, I never thought I’d see it through. But I kept telling myself: just one more day. That pep talk carried me from one day to the next. By the time I hit the halfway point, I knew I could finish strong.
My Results After 30 Days of Running 1 Mile Daily
This challenge benefited me in so many ways:
- I dropped 7 pounds
- My thighs are noticeably toned
- My digestion and bathroom schedule improved
- I built a stronger resolve to finish tasks I start
- I proved to myself that small, consistent habits beat the all-or-nothing approach
Today, for the final day, I knew I had to go big. I ran 2.13 miles, my longest run yet. And for the first time, the effort was recorded as medium instead of hard after a 2-mile run. That’s incredible progress considering that on Day 1, I could barely last a few minutes without wanting to quit.
What This Challenge Taught Me
Some people laughed and told me I needed to run more miles to see results. But if I had tried running 5 miles on Day 1, that would’ve also been my last day. Running 1 mile daily was realistic, doable, and sustainable.
Before I started this Streaktember challenge, I was a brisk walker on my treadmill, 3.5–4 mph for 30 minutes. But running felt intimidating. This challenge gave me the courage to push past that barrier. Out of all 30 runs, I only paused mid-run twice when I was completely exhausted.
I showed up every single day, even when I didn’t feel like it. On the hardest days, I whispered under my breath: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” And that carried me through.
What’s Next for Me
Though the challenge is officially over, my runs will continue. The habit is now part of me. Without the pressure of recording, I can even ditch the hat I wore daily to cover my awkward-length morning hair.
As a small creator, not many people have seen my content yet. But I’m glad I did this for myself. I proved that consistency, little steps, and faith make anything possible.
You all better watch out: Darmiey is coming!
