Streaktember Challenge – Day 20: Mixing Runs With Trends

We’ve officially hit Streaktember Day 20, and while my consistency is still going strong, I had to switch things up today. Engagement on my posts has dipped a little, so instead of only thinking like someone running a challenge, I also put on my content creator hat. That’s how I ended up incorporating the hilarious “she smiled at him with her lower teeth” trend into today’s run.

Adding Some Fun With Trends

The challenge is about showing up every day, but it’s also about sharing the journey. So today I decided to lean into content creation a little more. I stumbled on the “she smiled at him with her lower teeth” trend, where you act like you’re reading or listening to an audiobook and then give that awkward, lower-teeth-only smile. I thought, Why not pair this with my run?

Well, let’s just say I underestimated how tricky it would be. A 5–10 second video took me several takes, and by the time I nailed one I actually liked, I was already on a time crunch. Sometimes I really just need to get out of my head and go for it instead of overthinking.

The Actual Run

Because of all the takes, I forgot to record my usual running footage. And no, I still didn’t make it to 2 miles today. Honestly, I almost didn’t even complete 1 mile. Around 0.8 miles, my kids came downstairs, so I spent the last stretch running and shooing them away at the same time. Chaos!

The Win That Counts

At the end of the day, I still ran. That’s the whole point of this challenge: showing up, no matter what distractions, chaos, or trends get thrown my way. Streaktember day 20 is done. Ten more to go; I can see the finish line.
