Streaktember Challenge – Day 28: Energized and Crushing 2 Miles

Today marks Day 28 of my Streaktember challenge, and honestly, I feel amazing. Unlike other days filled with twists and surprises, this one was calm and smooth from start to finish. Yesterday, I wrapped up most of my chores and even attended Saturday service, so today was refreshingly light.

I cooked and filmed todays lunch (jollof rice with lamb loin chops; yum!) last night and then allowed myself to sleep in a little. That extra rest gave me the energy boost I needed for my run, and it definitely showed.

I ended up running 2.07 miles, making today the second time I’ve gone beyond 2 miles in this challenge. It felt so good to push past that 1-mile baseline and prove to myself once again that consistency really pays off.

With just a few days left in Streaktember, I’m feeling both grateful and excited. Grateful for the discipline this challenge has built, and excited to cross the finish line strong. The homestretch is here!

Why Consistency Wins Every Time

This challenge isn’t about speed or perfection; it’s about showing up daily. Even on days when I felt tired, overwhelmed, or distracted, I chose to honor my commitment and lace up my shoes. Today, being well-rested reminded me how much better the run feels when the body has recovered properly.

It’s proof that small daily habits add up to big results. Two miles may not seem like a lot to some, but to me, it represents progress, growth, and consistency.

Key Takeaways from Day 28

  • Sleep matters – A well-rested body performs better.
  • Meal prep helps – Cooking ahead of time frees up mental and physical energy for fitness.
  • Pushing beyond comfort zones feels rewarding – Hitting 2 miles was a proud moment.
  • Consistency beats motivation – I’ve made it this far by showing up daily, not by waiting to feel motivated.

Final Thoughts

Day 28 is officially in the books, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I ran over 2 miles, stayed energized throughout the day, and checked off every box I had planned. With only two more days to go, I’m determined to finish this challenge on a high note.

Here’s to consistency, discipline, and showing up for yourself every single day.
