Today’s run was the easiest so far, but of course, what’s a streaktember run without a little twist and drama? There always seems to be a curveball, and today was no exception.
I got to the 10-minute mark barely tired, feeling good, even dancing a little while running (terrible idea!). I got distracted and didn’t realize when I stepped too far to the side of the treadmill. Next thing I knew, I lost my balance and almost fell. I can’t count the number of times I shouted “Jesus!” in that split second. My life literally flashed before my eyes.
By sheer grace, I caught myself, though not without consequences. My treadmill is right next to the window, and I grabbed the blinds in panic, taking out a chunk of them in the process 😩. Lesson learned: don’t be proud! As much as I’m getting comfortable, I’m still reminded that I’m a beginner. For a minute there, I thought I was Sha’Carri Richardson (yes, the runner!), but my treadmill quickly humbled me.
On the bright side, today was my fastest run yet. I completed 1 mile at 11:50, and my fitness app recorded the effort as moderate. I was also well-rested, since I went to bed early last night, so I didn’t wake up feeling draggy or sluggish. Overall, despite the near accident, it turned out to be a really good run, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
💡 Tips & Reflections
- Don’t multitask while running — dancing and running don’t mix on a treadmill 😅.
- Stay humble — progress is exciting, but I’m still building endurance and form.
- Rest matters — going to bed early made today’s run feel lighter and faster.
