Streaktember Challenge – Day 17: First Mile Under 11 Minutes

Streaktember Day 17 is here, and honestly, I didn’t feel like running today. I went to bed early, but when I woke up, it felt like I had only taken a 10-minute nap. Still, I dragged myself downstairs, hopped on the treadmill, and pushed through. Even though I chickened out of the 2-mile goal again, something amazing happened; I ran my first mile split under 11 minutes. Streaktember Day 17 brought me an unexpected win!

The Struggle to Start

This morning wasn’t about energy or excitement; it was about discipline. I really didn’t feel like running, but I reminded myself that consistency is the whole point of this challenge. Even when the motivation isn’t there, the streak continues.

Chickening Out Again

Like yesterday, I planned to go for 2 miles straight, but as soon as my watch beeped that my exercise ring had closed, my brain said, “Time to stop!” 😂 Maybe I’ll just reduce the watch volume so I don’t hear it and trick myself into running further.

The Unexpected Win

While I didn’t hit 2 miles, I noticed something that completely lifted my spirits: I finished my first mile split in 10:56. For the first time in this challenge, I ran under 11 minutes! Olympics, here I come. You guys aren’t even ready for me. 😂

13 Days to Go

At this point, the finish line is so close. Only 13 days remain in Streaktember, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Some days are hard, some days are funny, and some days come with little victories like today’s.
