This morning started very early, but not in the way I had planned. I woke up with the intention of doing my Streaktember day 25 run first thing in the morning, but my baby also decided to wake up at 4 am and refused to go back to sleep. As any parent knows, when your little one is up, you’re up too. For a moment, I thought about how this could derail my challenge, but I reminded myself that the beauty of Streaktember is not perfection; it’s consistency.
Instead of feeling discouraged, I told myself I could always make up for it later in the day. That mindset shift kept me from spiraling into frustration and allowed me to embrace the day with a clear head.
Turning Challenges Into Opportunities
Since my morning run wasn’t going to happen, I leaned into another part of my life that I’ve been balancing during this challenge: recipe creation for my blog and YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram channels. Today I filmed multiple recipes:
- A homemade chicken bone broth recipe (rich and flavorful stock made from roasted bones).
- A quick stock hack that helps skim off excess fat.
- A nourishing chicken pepper soup recipe that combines comfort and health in a bowl.
Juggling running, content creation, and parenting isn’t easy, but Streaktember has taught me to keep showing up in the little ways that add up.
Finding the Window to Run
While I was filming in the kitchen, my baby finally fell asleep. Instead of wasting the opportunity scrolling on my phone or just sitting down, I grabbed my sneakers and hopped on the treadmill. I told myself I didn’t need to overdo it; 1 mile was enough to keep the streak alive.
And I did it! One mile logged on Day 25 of this challenge. It may not have been two miles, but it was a victory all the same.
Nearing the Finish Line
Now that I’m just a few days away from the end of Streaktember, I can’t believe I’ve actually made it this far. Every day has come with new obstacles: whether it’s lack of sleep, stress, or unexpected interruptions, but each day has also been an opportunity to push through and grow stronger.
This challenge is more than just running; it’s about discipline, resilience, and learning that progress looks different every day. Some days I’m hitting two miles, other days I’m fighting to squeeze in one. But all of it counts.
I can’t believe I’m wrapping up Streaktember soon 🥺. What started as a personal challenge has become such a life-changing journey.
